Strength Within defines the new generation of Christian hardcore. Columbus Ohio has really made us proud this time. We all know that ‘Christian’ metal from Ohio sucks. But fear not Christian headbangers! There is still hope! Strength Within gives us a perfect example of how to take tradition and build upon it. Their riffs are heavy and tight, as is their bass and drumming. Their new CD titled Things To Speak Of displays them at their very best. One listen to this record and you realize how tight these dudes are as a unit and start wondering why other bands aren’t this tight and heavy. Probably because other bands don’t relentlessly play shows, rehearse, and record like the hardworking dudes in Strength Within. What really makes them stand apart is the vocalist’s (David) delivery. He has a way of pushing his lyrics in such a way that he seems to pour them straight from his heart. I think what makes this band stand out is that passion. In every part of their music you feel their passion, you hear their hearts cry out to a world and to God. Well Strength Within, Ohio hears ya, and I bet with music loud as yours even God hears you all the way up in that castle in the sky.

Wreak Havoc comes out of Cleveland Ohio with a stripped down, no nonsense message, delivered in the purest form of hardcore. Guitars that create a beautiful feedback of melody and riffage combine with a raw, no filler/all killer, drum sound on their album: Abandon Everything (City Of Kings records - ‘09). The four piece outfit is lead by a passion fueled and unique vocalist. Both punky and at the same time understandable, the lyrics delivered deal with government, betrayal, and the broken metal scene in Cleveland (check out the track Kids These Days, pure truth). Keep an eye on the horizon for these guys as they will spend summer 2K10 playing shows all over the midwest and east coast. Do whatever you gotta do to get to one of their shows because their vocalist is a wild man and their show is second to none. If you like your hardcore pure and old school, with a dash of BANE, Trash Talk, & Bad Brains, then go to their shows and buy their CD. It didn’t leave my car stereo for 2 months.

With new music being released July 22nd, the EP Anatomy of a God is sure to be a hit with Ohio’s metal fans. The Dagger Rebellion is known for their stunning intro’s and fantastic melodies!

I have never put so much work into recording in my life. I never thought that doing 8 tracks with a stripped down hardcore band would be this much work. Why are we trying to make this thing sound so good? I don’t get it. It’s probably just going to be a let down anyways hahaha.
